Open Communication: Employees must feel comfortable raising issues with an employer, as these impact how well they can do their job – which may ultimately affect a company’s bottom line. They should also welcome constructive feedback from managers to help them perform at higher levels. Employers must also encourage open communication, offering input where appropriate and listening to employee concerns.
Support: Employees can’t do their job well without access to the proper resources and tools, and it’s the employer’s responsibility to offer this type of support. A healthy employee-employer relationship starts with the right training and onboarding, and providing the team with the means to achieve their goals.
Gratitude: Bonuses, raises and promotions are ways that employers can show their appreciation to the team for a job well done. But there are non-monetary practices that can be used to demonstrate gratitude and enhance the relationship between employees and employers. Examples would be allowing a special parking spot or having executives serve lunch to employees at the cafeteria.
